ในปี 2562 นับเป็นปีแรกในประวัติศาสตร์ ที่ประเทศไทยมีจำนวนผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป มากกว่าเด็กอายุต่ำกว่า 15 ปี มากถึง 11.6 ล้านคน หรือประมาณ 17.5% ของประชากรทั้งหมดจำนวน 69.3 ล้านคน ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นว่าในอนาคตจะมีการสร้างธุรกิจใหม่ๆ เพื่อตอบโจทย์ความต้องการผู้สูงอายุมีมากขึ้นเช่นกัน
